Navigating & Marinating in Joy

In these turbulent times, it is imperative that we listen to clear and reasoned voices; especially so when the media and elites wish to stoke the nation into rash emotionalism. My brothers at CrossPolitic have been masterful at this the entire year; this past week has been no different.

This post-election discussion with N.D. Wilson is well worth your time, contemplation, and prayer.

Here are some other elements that are spot on:

The question is can you prove it in court and can you prove it in a court to a judge who can stand up to a mob. We are not in a situation where the riots in the streets have let everyone know what is happening…at this point we have seen nothing compared to the riots we would see if any court tries to give this trophy to Trump.

The first state that toggles will start to undo the entire narrative and you will start to see cities burn.

What we just saw, and this is what Trump was not ready for, was not a traditional socialist seizure of media; making media state. We saw the seizure of the state by media, which is new…This tech oligarchy that we see, the CEOs of social media platforms have more power than the President; they can pick the President. We can have a guy that doesn’t campaign and he pulls in 75 million votes; every time he gets up he says some babadeljasdougjh. He could bumble and stumble his way through everything but the tech oligarchs made their decision.

I think we are in it for a decade; when we rollover to 2030, this country will be unrecognizable…whoever wins this decade will own the first half of this century.

The worst thing you can do is be breeders for Babylon.

There is a huge number of people who need to get their heads on straight and realize that America is not their savior. 71 Million people voting for Trump have their reasons but in that group you have many millions of people who are idolatrously hopeful about a weird red, white, and blue Dagon.

Build everywhere; build everything. Depending on your gifts, your skill set, your interests, you are going to be building different things. We need to be builders and makers; not the slaves, not the servants. For a long time Christians have thought in terms of, basically, I’m going to go to Heaven when I die, Jesus is coming back next week, and so I can just get this job because all I gotta do is pay my bills and just make it through; rather than thinking in terms of long term, decades, how can I leave a mark for my grandkids, building and making so that the pagans are the ones that are coming to get jobs from us.

Get your blinders off and see past the next four years.

There is a lot to ponder in this conversation, even from the first half of the entire episode. Yet, I have listened to this section of the conversation three times now. I am encouraged and emboldened to focus more upon what is within arms reach.

May we think beyond this election season, beyond the next four years, and indeed, beyond our own lives. May we focus on building and making regardless of the difficulty of the day.

From the Desk.

Update: Contrast the demeanor of CrossPolitic with Glenn Beck.
